GIRL TALK STRUCTURE

GIRL TALK STRUCTUREÖ Girl Talk is possible because of the commitment of a number of individuals and organizations. Volunteers are able to work with Girl Talk in one of the following categories: Partners- operate as a board, making the most of the decisions. They are administratively and financially accountable for the program. Partners participate in planning and implementing Girl Talk programming, fundraising, committee work, monthly meetings, and work with and support the Girl Talk Coordinator. Volunteers-attend and help facilitate the weekly Girl Talk sessions at the JTDC, participate in monthly meetings to plan programs and help identify program resources. Resources-provide expertise, information, materials, and program support by facilitating or conducting Girl Talk sessions. Resources may range from experts on domestic violence, African dance, womenís history, quilting, HIV/AIDS, job and career issues, Street Law, art, improvisation, etc. Advisory Board-members assist in identifying resources for the girls, both during the weekly Girl Talk sessions and once they return home; participate in fundraising, serve as advocates for girls on a myriad of issues; and attend quarterly meetings.
